The manual Machine is very effective and efficient but has lower speed than electronic machine. It's also more stressful than the electronic.  However, most manual Machines have electric engine with pedal attached behind the manual Machine head to help reduce stress and increase speed of sewing. MS favorite machine brand for manual machines is "Butterfly". Tested and trusted for 5 years and still counting.
