WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOUR TOWELS

FASHION IS HEALTH.

If there's one thing am meticulous and sensitive about aside under-wears, it is towels. This, I am so certain of when it comes to care of towels. I don't joke with my hygiene,so i don't joke with my towels. I am going to let you know the ways to care for your towels.

What you need to know about your towels if not properly taken care of.
  •  New towels most times have silicone, coating and other finishes left on their fibers from the manufacturing process.
  • The best way to wash your towels is only by the use of detergents else the towel becomes weak and soft quickly.
  • It is always good to change your towels at least after 3 years. They could loose cottons because and their plush feel.
  • Most of you must have experienced odors from your towels even after washing and drying to use the next day. It is because it is not well dried. If placed in the bathroom to dry, it might not properly dry as bathrooms are most times steamy. So, it needs to be dried somewhere else before placing it in the bathroom.
  • *Ps, I found this particular method, i haven't tried it but would be good to for us to try it together. "If your towels feel scratchy, put half a cup of white vinegar in your washer's fabric softener dispenser. It will remove any extra detergent that latched onto the towel and open up the fibers, making them feel softer. You can also mix the vinegar with a few drops of colorless essential oil to make towels smell nice." "wash colored towels with similar colors in warm water for the first several washing. Using about half the recommended amount of detergent, add 1/2 to 1 cup of white vinegar to the wash water. The vinegar helps set the colors and removes excess detergent residue" #copied. Lol, would be a nice try.

Best ways to wash and care for your towels.
  1. Once you don't wash your new bath towel before use, you would observe some finishes sticking on your body. You must wash your towels before you use them for the first time to remove the finishes and to allow absorbency.
    • Wash your bath towels at least once every week. Ideally, you should wash your tow two or three days after use.
    • Wash your bath towels with warm warm and non bleaching agent.
    • Especially for colored towels, and since towels are made from wool and cotton, they could fade gradually if washed with bleaching agent.
    • Do not wash white towel and colored towels together. Wash white towels with hot water and non chloride bleach.
    • Use fabric softeners to reduce absorbency.
    • Dry your towel under the sun but don't get it too exposed or overdried in order not to reduce the quality of the fabric.
    • Make sure the towel is properly dried with no damp to avoid mildew.
    • There's no need to iron your bath towels. It will reduce absorbency
Side effects of the wrong use of your towel.
    • If you don't dry your bath towel and leave it damp, it could accumulate growth of bacterias but as towel dries, the bacterias dry as well.
    • Towels pick up dead skin cells from your body as well as the water they absorb. The bacterias stunk in your towel causes smell odours on your towel.
    • You can use your towel for 10 years as long as you're properly sanitizing them.
    • According to Reynolds, “Washcloths typically become soaked and heavily soiled during use,”. “When used to scrub skin, soils from makeup or dead skin cells can rapidly accumulate. Being wet and not just damp means there is a longer dry time. This lengthy condition of moisture creates the perfect environment for bacteria and mold to grow to unacceptable levels.”
    • Don't forget that bacteria are gradually accumulating in your towel of not properly dried and damp after use. Don't attempt to use your towels when damp because there are bacteria waiting to rock your body.

Like I said, am meticulous about how I use my towels so I usually have about three towels that I change once I wash one or two of them. It is safer and advisable to have more than one towel.

Whatever has to do with fabrics concern me. Because Fashion is Health.
    xoxo dolls.
